Setting up the Indian business entity for the TXP engagement. This page updates as each step completes.
Commercial space documentation completes Friday 4 September. Udyam and GST registration are both filed the following Monday.
Tap any phase for detail. Dates after Phase 1 are working estimates based on published processing times.
Securing the registered business address — ownership or tenancy agreement for commercial premises. This is the foundation document: every registration that follows requires proof of a registered place of business.
Registration on the Government of India's Udyam portal, formally recognising the business as a Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise. Issued the same day, free of charge. Produces the Udyam Registration Certificate with a permanent registration number.
Goods and Services Tax registration, producing the GSTIN and registration certificate. This is what allows invoices to TXP to be raised as a zero-rated export of services, with no tax added to your invoices.
Filed with Aadhaar authentication completed in the same session, which keeps the application on the accelerated approval track.
Current account in the business name, configured to receive international remittances in GBP and to issue Foreign Inward Remittance Advices against each payment. Requires the GST certificate and registered address from the earlier phases.
A Skydo account, providing a UK-domiciled receiving account so TXP can pay by ordinary domestic transfer rather than international wire. Funds settle to the Indian business account within 24 hours, with remittance documentation issued automatically.
Why this follows the bank account: the cross-border account is a receiving rail, not a bank account — it converts and settles into the Indian business account, which therefore has to exist first.
Registered legal name and place of business.
Udyam registration number and GSTIN.
Scans of the Udyam and GST registration certificates.
UK receiving account for domestic transfer, plus the underlying business account.
GST-compliant export invoice, zero-rated — no VAT or GST added.
Foreign Inward Remittance Advice against each payment.
The critical path runs through GST registration. Filed with Aadhaar authentication in the same session, approval takes 3–7 working days. Applications that defer authentication, or are flagged for physical verification, move to a 30-day track.
Even on that slower track, completion lands in the second half of October. Against a first invoice at the end of October, the plan carries 32 days of margin on the expected timeline.
Phase 1 dates are actual. Everything after is a working estimate based on published statutory processing times, not a commitment from the issuing authorities. This page is updated as each phase closes.
Questions on any phase are welcome at any point.
